How are you leveraging your time
Time!
Back in the ‘70’s, the Steve Miller Band had a song called “Fly Like An Eagle” that began with the lyrics: “Time keeps on
slipping, slipping, slipping into the future”…
Time.
We all have it.
It is the most precious commodity that we all have…it doesn’t even cost anyone a cent to own – it’s totally free!
With each day that begins we all are given the exact same amount of time to:
Eat, sleep, work…and play!
Yet how productive are each of us with it?
We all have the very same 365 days in the year to work with:
Broken down into – 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, and 52 weeks in the year.
Why is it then that some seem to get so much done while others always need more “time” to accomplish their tasks?
What is the difference between the $1 million dollar income and the $100,000 income?
Now, just think about this for a moment.
Assuming a “standard” 8 hour work day, working 5 days a week over a period of 50 weeks (excluding 2 weeks off for holidays: 52-2=50) one will be working a total of 2,000 “man hours" in a 365 day (1 year) period.
With me so far!?
Great!
So, the math becomes very simple – the person whose income is $1,000,000 a year is earning $500 an hour. The person getting $100,000 a year is earning $50 an hour!
Same hours worked!
However, a very big difference in the money you make!
Physically, it would be impossible to work an additional 18,000 hours more at $50 per hour to generate the $1 million dollar pay check…
However, what if you could “leverage” your time and resources?
“Leverage” – ever more with less!
The mythological Greek figure, Archimedes is quoted as saying: “Give me a lever long enough and I will move the world”…
Hence the word, “leverage”!
In fact, we all use this concept all the time each day…
Frankly, we would not even have the 8 hours a day to “work” if we did not employ leverage.
We use it: to drive to work – not walk; to switch TV channels – not get up to physically change channels; to buy a home – not wait until we have $800,000 – $1 million + saved ( I live in Vancouver BC, Canada and that’s our current reality – even in these times…)
Well, you get the idea!
I have long been a proponent of “leverage for success” and that’s where the Internet comes in!
In no other time and place in history has the ability to make money utilizing “leverage” been so available – to everyone – regardless of race, religion or creed…
As Alex Mandossian so eloquently puts it: “The Internet is the Medium – Now, find your message and broadcast it to others with your Mouth and your Mouse”!
