Your message your mouth and your mouse
Do you have a message, a mouth and a mouse?
As Alex Mandossian so eloquently puts it: “The Internet is the medium. Now, find your message, use your mouth and your mouse and broadcast to others”!
Simple as it sounds – what does it mean?
Well, just think about this for a moment.
Perhaps in the past you used a professional "telemarketing" service…
You know the kind – you hire someone to contact business owners or individuals to introduce them to your product or service.
Or maybe you couldn't afford this type of a service or wanted to keep control of costs or the contact process – so you decided to do it yourself.
So, how did that go? Be honest now!
Generally, we call this form of communication "cold calling" – the the telephone being the medium.
It does work, but there is a huge amount of time and resources for the business reaching out – and time and energy for you.
Additionally, by engaging in this type of activity one is actually trading time for dollars.
Also, your message and the medium as well as your voice are limited!
Because you can only physically call so many people or places of business in a day – and that's it!
However, with the Internet, the potential to increase both the reach of your message as well as your voice is not limited by the hours in a day…
When done right, you can have the medium of the Internet broadcasting your voice along with your message – 24/7.
This type of marketing is known as "permission" marketing.
Because those that find you want to know about who you are and what you have to offer them.
For example, you may be giving away a free report or audio recording talking about something of a high perceived value on your site.
In this case, when someone enters their first name and email address to receive the report or audio: they are immediately giving you permission to market to them!
They are giving you permission to continue the dialogue (that THEY) have opened…
Now, your job is allot easier because now these individuals are "warm leads" and by virtue of their contacting you are either interested, willing and/or able to make a purchase from you.
And THAT is what GOOD marketing for business is all about!
